"Located in Vuadomo Village on Vanua Levu, Fiji, the series of three buildings feature a reception area, changing rooms, and a spa treatment facility, each carefully positioned within a steep-sided valley to integrate within the surrounding natural landscape.
The design draws inspiration from the rugged beauty of the project’s context, with each building slightly cantilevered over the river below. This placement amplifies the tranquil sound of the flowing water, fostering a serene and relaxing atmosphere for visitors. Locally sourced materials and traditional construction techniques were integral to the process, ensuring the structures are both sustainable and connected to the village’s cultural heritage."

I will forever be grateful to Caukin for allowing me to participate in this project, as it meant I could immerse myself in a completely new way of life, where the people are connected to the land they call home, and where time seems to slow down.
compared to the busy western way of life where it seems that we just use the land for what we need and nothing more.
Some of my favourite memories of this trip were spending time at the end of the day to plant trees that in the future can be used for traditional kanoes or planting the ceremonial Kava plant that can only be harvested in 5 years before its use. It was truly an honour to spend time with such a lovely community who now feel like family afar, and i hope to go back one day and reminisce on that time we were all together.
